The Australian: Australians should feel unashamed about our immigration policies and instead fight the growth of identity politics and the undermining of free speech.
That’s the message of provocative Canadian commentator Mark Steyn, who tomorrow begins an Australian speaking tour sponsored by the Institute of Public Affairs. Free speech is at the heart of Steyn’s message. He is surprised that the controversial section 18c of our Racial Discrimination Act is still standing when his own country successfully repealed the equivalent parts of its Human Rights Act in 2013. “Free peoples are losing the habit of free speech,” he says. “They’re taught, not really just at university but in fact from kindergarten, that there is a correct view of certain subjects and that incorrect views are distressing. The last two generations raised in the Western world, they don’t do that thing, the apocryphal Voltaire line, ‘I disagree with what you say but I’ll fight to the death for you to.’ They’ll fight to the death for you not to be allowed to say it.” The consequences can be disturbing. “People can actually lose the spirit of liberty and once you’ve lost that there are not a lot of easy paths back,” he cautions. Steyn says the initial reluctance of politicians and much of the media to acknowledge, let alone discuss frankly, events in Cologne on New Year’s Eve or the growing problem of sexual assault in Sweden did nothing to preserve social cohesion but instead widened a democratic deficit between governments and the governed over the tide of asylum-seekers sweeping across Europe. “Free speech is like being a little bit pregnant,” he says. “You can’t be a little bit free speech.” He talks of meeting people fleeing the Balkans as a journalist covering the wars that accompanied the disintegration of Yugoslavia. “In Europe the whole migrant thing is basically open mockery of the whole idea of refugees,” he says. Steyn says EU leaders need to speak frankly about the forces now pulling people to the continent and how they are different. He points to Africa. “People now have cell phones,” Steyn says. They can see what’s going on in the world. Even as recently as the 1980s their glimpse of life in the West came from re-runs of Dallas. “It’s a different world now. They can see in real time their cousin who got on a boat from Libya and wound up in Italy and walked over to Sweden. They’re seeing in real time the kind of life their cousin is living. What percentage of North Africa has to decide ‘We’d quite like to move to Europe’ for there to be no Europe?” As a result, Steyn sees nothing wrong with Australia’s asylum-seeker policies. “Australia does what every country used to do until the 1960s. It reserves the right to pick and choose who it admits to within its borders.” He adds: “In effect, everyone in Australia is Donald Trump.” But Steyn points to the different recent experiences of asylum-seeker flows of Europe and Australia. “Europe is basically as near to Africa as Australia is to Indonesia,” he says, describing the EU’s approach as “the equivalent of Australia telling everyone in Indonesia, ‘See you in Darwin on Tuesday’.” Steyn is blunt on the potential consequences of the uncontrolled flows of people. “If you lose control of your border you don’t have a country,” he says. In this environment, he is particularly concerned about the impact of identity politics and diversity policies that play on differences. He points to his experiences in the Balkans. “Once people start to think of tribal identities, you end up with tribal politics,” he warns. “It doesn’t matter if the tribe is Bosnians or Croats or whether its transgender and lesbians versus straight white males.” Steyn jokes about “the Stanley Gibbons stamp collection approach to diversity” but says it is a trap that can cause divisions in wealthy, comfortable and largely homogenous societies, be they in Europe or our own. “I raise my kids in New Hampshire which is 99.99999 per cent white,” he says. “I think there’s rumoured to be three black guys somewhere in the southern part of the state and two Hispanics. That’s it for New Hampshire. “It gets kind of boring and people think wouldn’t it be nice to have bit of this and a bit of that. We live here and we’ve got all these people called Smith and Jones and all the rest of it. It would be much more interesting if we can have a bit more diversity. So look. There’s that nice gay couple who have moved into No 28 Victoria Gardens. And — ooh, aren’t we lucky now? There’s a nice fire-breathing imam who has moved into No 30. “They can all meet. The fire-breathing imam can make conversation with the nice gay couple over the garden fence as they do on a Sunday afternoon.” Then the joking ends. “The situation they’re now realising in Europe is that when you’re so boundlessly tolerant that you tolerate the avowedly intolerant then you basically have turned that whole kind of Stanley Gibbons diversity thing into a civilisational death wish,” Steyn says. He warns against embracing the self-loathing that comes with the increasingly common use of concepts such as privilege and entitlement to delineate societal goodies and baddies — witting or not. “The minute you start using these things like privilege, what you’re doing is incentivising the most reductive kind of identity group politics,” Steyn says. Here, he specifically references 18c and “what groups you can claim to be a member of” so before the law “what matters is not that you are a citizen like any other” but which “groups you have a purchase on”. http://www.lukeford.net/blog/?p=87858 ---------------------------------------- COMMENT
Australia’s off-shore detention asylum-seeker policies might be disapproved of by the suicidal liberal-left, by the corporate press, by the universal 'human rights' industry and its intelligentsia, but the fact is that Australia's borders are as open to non-European mass immigration as those of all other post-colonial Western nations, irrespective of consequences to the common man, who is without the buffer of wealth and privilege, or even the comforts of middle class advantage (eg expensive suburbs, private schools, private transport etc) that lends to being removed from from effects of 'multiculturalism.' And it's the situation of the common man that is most impacted. Material and other supports in the community (health, education & other facilities, welfare benefits, assisted housing, mental health services, old aged care services etc), as resources are diverted to immigrants. As in, there is competition for scarce public resources for those that MOST NEED those resources in Western communities.
Over 25% of Australia's 24-million population is foreign born. That figure's staggering and, in terms of security, quite frightening.
The 'buffer' option works well for the wealthy, even as society eventually implodes, as the wealthy can always live behind walled estates and in suburbs that are protected by armed guard. It's the poor that will be stuck in crime-ridden slums of the future. ---------------------------------------- Europa-Evropa |

Australia, Bendigo - Sudanese & Afghani Rapefugees
| ---------------------------------------- ARTICLE ---------------------------------------- http://cairnsnews.org/2015/10/16/australia-police-told-to-cover-up-muslim-identity-behind-14-x-brutal-gang-rape-of-young-bendigo-mother/ Australia: Police told to cover up Muslim identity behind 14 x brutal gang rape of young Bendigo mother Oct 16, 2015 Posted by cairnsnews https://themuslimissue.wordpress.com/2015/08/15/australia-police-told-to-cover-up-muslim-identity-behind-14-time-brutal-gang-rape-of-young-mother/ BENDIGO’S GANG RAPISTS EXPOSED
No, this is not about the Bendigo Bank’s rapacious associates who have a financial interest in the land surrounding the proposed mega mosque. Nor is it about how the Bendigo Bank cancelled the accounts of all those who objected to the rape of their city. Nor is it about the corrupted Bendigo councillors who did not declare an interest.
And it’s not even about the Bendigo Bank’s violation of community sentiments in promoting the crass Islamification of one of Australia’s historic and iconic cities. No, but do you recall that ghastly gang rape of a young Bendigo mother… a case that had completely disappeared under a media blackout? Well, a whistleblower has disclosed the filthy tactics employed by Bendigo’s newly empowered Muslims: “I was working for the DPP’s department of human services at the time and was directly involved in this case. I am reluctant to openly disclose this type of information as former colleagues have faced legal action for far less.” The anonymous whistleblower went on to say, “Actually, they were all African Muslims and there were more than six involved in the savage rape but only six were formally charged. No adults were convicted. “It was common knowledge at the time that the adult offenders conspired, under legal advice, to blame the younger offenders for the crime as juveniles would receive the more lenient sentences and a media blackout would be imposed on the entire case”, he said. As a result, details of the case have never surfaced and the adults involved, Mohammed Elnour, 19, Akoak Manon, 19, and Mohammed Zaoli, 22, walked away scot free after having raped the poor woman 14 times while her two children were present in her home. “All three juvenile rapists spent some time in remand, yet only two were sentenced and both served no more than 12 months. “Not one of the gang ever admitted guilt nor did they show any remorse for their actions. It was common knowledge that the offenders received financial assistance for their legal defence from the Muslim community, but only after it was confirmed the victim was a young non-Muslim Australian woman. “DHS and Vicpol members involved in the case were absolutely disgusted by all aspects of the crime itself and the way it was handled but we all were constantly reminded that we would face legal action if found to have disclosed information to the media. “One thing I would love to share with all Australians is the time when two of the offenders were visited by their family (a loving moderate Muslim family) for the first time since they had been in remand. “After the offenders had informed the family that it was, ‘All okay because the victim was just an Aussie girl’, the entire family stood and hugged the offenders in relief, the mother was crying tears of joy as she knew the family would have been shunned by the Muslim community if the victim had been a Muslim girl. “I hope you see fit to share this information with the Australian people and continue the great work.” Bendigo’s past will hold a proud place in the hearts of Australians. Its future will hold nothing but contempt http://cairnsnews.org/2015/10/16/australia-police-told-to-cover-up-muslim-identity-behind-14-x-brutal-gang-rape-of-young-bendigo-mother/ ---------------------------------------- ARTICLE ---------------------------------------- http://www.bendigoadvertiser.com.au/story/75614/police-say-bendigo-mother-raped-14-times/ Police say Bendigo mother raped 14 times By ELISE SNASHALL-WOODHAMS April 3, 2012, 12:03 p.m. Mohammed Elnour, 19 -- 17 charges, including 14 counts of rape -- single counts of indecent assault, unlawful assault and false imprisonment -- using a carriage service to harass and harassing a witness Akoak Manon, 19 -- 17 charges, including 14 counts of rape -- single counts of indecent assault, unlawful assault and false imprisonment Mohammed Zaoli, 22 -- 17 charges, including 14 counts of rape -- single counts of indecent assault, unlawful assault and false imprisonment 14 separate charges of digital and penile rape committed by perpetrators charge of false imprisonment came when the complainant was dragged from the kitchen woman was allegedly raped a further 10 times in the laundry http://www.bendigoadvertiser.com.au/story/75614/police-say-bendigo-mother-raped-14-times/ Other: "Each of the men, who came to Australia as refugees from Sudan and Afghanistan, have been charged with 17 offences, including rape and assault." http://www.liveleak.com/view?i=97c_1295064591 ---------------------------------------- COMMENT Anyone else see a pattern here? ---------------------------------------- Europa-Evropa |

Croatia (Location), Norway (Victim), & Australia (Perps of Non-European Extraction) - Admitted Rapists Pay $30K to Beat Rape Trial & Return to Melbourne, Australia
| ---------------------------------------- ARTICLE ---------------------------------------- http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-3436281/Three-Australian-men-raped-17-year-old-Norwegian-backpacker-Croatia-free-paying-30-000-avoid-trial.html Aussie creeps who paid $30,000 to beat rape trial: Predator 'heard a soft voice telling him his purpose in life was to bed beauties' before attacking girl, 17, in a bar toilet in Croatia with two mates By Emily Crane and Belinda Grant Geary For Daily Mail Australia Published: 07:27 EST, 8 February 2016 | Updated: 11:59 EST, 8 February 2016
The three Australian men who paid $30,000 to avoid being jailed for the rape of a 17-year-old girl in Croatia have been identified.
Dylan Djohan, 23, Ashwin Kumar, 23, and Waleed Latif, 21, pleaded guilty to raping the Norwegian backpacker in July at a bar in Split, Croatia, The Age reports. In exchange for freedom and to avoid a trial, the men agreed with Croatian prosecutors to pay the victim $31,594 and pleaded guilty over the rape. They were then handed a one-year prison sentence, which was reduced to a five-year good behaviour bond. Days after learning he was free to return home, Mr Djohan reportedly took to social media on February 3 to announce to his followers he was returning to Melbourne. Djohan also raised the possibility of joining the 'mile-high club' with a flight attendant, according to The Age. He wrote alongside a photo of himself sitting on a wall in Dubrovnik that he had an epiphany and was told by a 'soft voice' that his purpose was to 'bed heavenly blessed beauties'. Djohan also regularly spoke of his body building on social media. "4 days into my Adonis shred and these cuts are coming in deeper than the Baltic seas. My gift from the gods was this blessed block of heathen marble ... My curse from the gods is that I must sculpt it with my bare hands," he said. All three men are believed to have deactivated their Facebook accounts since returning home. The men, who were on bail and free to roam Croatia, may have faced 15 years in jail had a deal not been finalised between their lawyers and Croatian prosecutors. The good behaviour bond is enforceable in Europe but not Australia. The men are believed to have returned home on Sunday after spending almost seven months in Croatia awaiting trial for the rape. Police seized their passports in July last year after the 17-year-old told officers the trio had tried to gang rape her in the toilet of the Tropic nightclub in Split at about 1.30am on July 16 last year. The court heard that the men had been drinking at the beach-side nightspot with the girl when one led the 17-year-old to the men's bathroom before the other two joined them and started assaulting her. The girl was able to fight them off at the last moment but not before the three left forensic evidence to tie them to the assault. Three semen samples were found on her clothing, with two of the accused men claiming they had consensual sex with the woman and the other denying any interaction her. Security or staff from the club did not report the incident on the night. Witness statements are said to have supported the Australians' version of events and the prosecutors case against the three men was reportedly weak. Sanja Sarnavka, a women's rights campaigner in Croatia, said the prosecutor should not have allowed a financial settlement for a rape charge. 'If they can afford it, those who are indicted will pay for the best lawyers, pay the damages and receive a minimum sentence or even go free,' she told local media. 'In a democratic state, everyone should have the same treatment, regardless of their wealth or assets.' But Ms Sarnavka defended the 17-year-old's right to accept the money to avoid reliving the trauma that a trial may have brought. ---------------------------------------- Three men who admitted to raping teenager in Croatia return to Australia after paying €20,000 Dylan Djohan, Ashwin Kumar and Waleed Latif pleaded guilty to raping a 17-year-old girl http://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/australasia/three-men-who-admitted-to-raping-teenager-in-croatia-return-to-australia-after-paying-20000-a6860506.html ---------------------------------------- COMMENT

Sweden - Pela Atroshi - Iraqi Kurdistan - Honour Killing
| ---------------------------------------- ARTICLE ---------------------------------------- Australian links in honour killing of Pela Atroshi 8 years ago April 26, 2008 12:00AM
MORTALLY wounded and bleeding profusely, Pela Atroshi covered her head with her hands, pleading "please don't shoot me, please don't shoot me".
As her sister and her mother screamed, her uncle Rezkar Atroshi raised his gun and killed her. The family's honour had been cleansed. Rezkar had already shot Pela twice in the back in the upstairs room. Helped downstairs by her mother and her younger sister, the 19-year-old Kurdish Swede was confronted by four resolute men - her father and his three brothers. The men pulled the women apart. Her youngest uncle then finished the job, shooting Pela in the head. The bullet went through one of her fingers and into her brain. The decision to kill her was made by a council of male relatives, led by Pela's grandfather, Abdulmajid Atroshi - a Kurd who lived in Australia. One of his sons, Shivan Atroshi, helped pull the women away from Pela so his younger brother could get a clean shot. Shivan, too, lived in Australia. It is the first time an officially confirmed honour killing with a connection to Australia has ever publicly come to light, but it is likely there have been other Australian-connected honour crimes that have been kept hidden within the tight-lipped Australian Kurdish community. Pela Atroshi's murder in Dohuk, in Iraqi Kurdistan, was officially deemed an honour killing by both Iraqi and Swedish authorities. The Swedish detective inspector who investigated the murder, Kickis Aahre Algamo, said she had since heard of another honour crime with a connection to Australia - this time the attempted killing of an Australian Kurd that went awry when the girl escaped. She told The Weekend Australian that from 2000 the Swedish authorities were in communication with Australian authorities and the Swedish embassy in Canberra about the 1999 murder of Pela Atroshi. Breen Atroshi, Pela's younger sister, Inspector Algamo said, was still prepared to testify in any prosecution of her Australian grandfather or uncle. But it is unclear whether Pela's grandfather and uncle still live in Australia. An Interpol investigation in 2000 found that Shivan Atroshi was not at the time living in Australia, although he may have since returned. One person in Sydney's Kurdish community said he believed the Atroshi grandfather - once a freedom fighter - had hidden in Kurdistan, but had sporadically returned to Australia in recent years. Abdulmajid Atroshi had travelled to Stockholm with his son Shivan in 1999 to finally decide on Pela's fate. She had made the mistake of leaving home for a time, frustrated by her family's adherence to restrictive Kurdish traditions. "Pela's uncle, the oldest son of Abdulmajid, said if any of the unmarried girls is away from home for one night, she has to be killed," Inspector Algamo said on the phone from Stockholm. Pela was an intelligent and good-looking girl. When she emigrated with her family to Sweden in 1995, she took to Swedish ways - eventually leaving the family home in January 1999. But after a time she missed her parents and six younger brothers and sisters and returned, agreeing to an arranged marriage in Kurdistan. It was a front - the men in her family had decided to kill her in their home town of Dohuk, northern Iraq, where honour killings were considered minor crimes, and where the Atroshi clan commanded immense respect. The UN Special Rapporteur on Violence Against Women, Yakin Erturk, in a report last year to the Human Rights Council, said she had been told that a "family council of male relatives living in Sweden and Australia decided that Pela had to die to cleanse the family honour". The men of the family - Pela's father, Agid, and her three uncles, Australian Shivan, and Swedish Rezkar and Dakhaz - arranged for Pela to go to Kurdistan in June 1999 so they could kill her. Her grandfather remained in Sweden, saying, according to the testimony of Pela's younger sister Breen, "I will not set foot in Kurdistan until Pela is dead". In October 1999, in Iraq, Agid and Rezkar were convicted of her murder, and sentenced to one-year suspended jail terms. The court referred to a medical report that said "her hymen was broken" and to the "defendants' honourable motivation". A higher court later ordered that the sentences be served, but by that time, the two Swedes, Rezkar and Dakhaz, had returned to Stockholm, where they were arrested. Inspector Algamo and a fellow officer had travelled to Turkey to bring a key witness, Pela's sister Breen, back to Sweden. Breen was the first to raise the alarm, ringing the Swedish police from Dohuk to report her sister's murder. Breen was brought by a delegation of Kurds to the Swedish embassy in Ankara, Turkey. "I got a couple of minutes alone with her, and she said, 'I want to go home and I want to testify for my sister Pela'," said Inspector Algamo, who is now compiling a report on honour crimes. "We rushed her away to a waiting embassy car and drove as fast as possible to the airport." In Sweden, Breen testified in the trials of her uncles - who had been arrested in January 2000 and who were liable to prosecution because Pela's murder was planned in Stockholm. Breen condemned her elders in court. She now lives in hiding. On January 12, 2001, the Stockholm City Court convicted both men of murder and sentenced them to life imprisonment. Their sentences were confirmed on appeal. Pela's father Agid remained in Kurdistan. He is still wanted for murder in Sweden. "When we counted all the ones involved in the planning (of Pela's murder) there were 11," Inspector Algamo said. "But some of them were Australian citizens and some of them were Iraqi citizens - we could only prosecute three of them." Swedish deputy chief prosecutor Agnetha Hilding Qvarnstrom explained that while there had been contact with the Australian authorities regarding the Atroshi case it had not culminated in an official extradition request. Since the murder was planned in Sweden and committed in Iraq, it also seems unlikely Australia could take any action. In Australia, Muhammad Kamal, a lecturer in philosophy at Melbourne University, remembers Pela's grandfather, Abdulmajid Atroshi - the patriarch. In the early 1990s, Dr Kamal had been broadcasting a Kurdish program on SBS radio, and Atroshi was behind a campaign to have the program taken off air because he believed it was preaching immorality. "He was a practising Muslim and a tribal man," Dr Kamal said, adding that religious leaders in Kurdistan never condemned honour crimes because they believed it was an essential bulwark against immorality. "I haven't heard any statement from clergy in the region to say honour killing is wrong," he said. In recent years, with the diaspora from tribal regions, there are honour killings connected to a number of nations in Europe - and now to Australia. Inspector Algamo has also been told that in 2004 or 2005 an Australian girl connected to the Atroshi clan was in the same position as Pela. "I was told by my informers that the Australian girl was taken to Kurdistan in the summer on vacation," Inspector Algamo said. "She had a forbidden love or something, they were also planning to kill her." The girl discovered the plans and fled, assisted by an American soldier who helped to smuggle her out of the country. She said the Australian Kurdish community staged two demonstrations in front of the Swedish embassy in Canberra insisting on the Atroshi men's innocence. Unni Wikan, a Norwegian academic who has written a recent book on honour crimes titled In Honour of Fadime, has looked carefully at the Atroshi case. She said the horrors persisted. "In Sweden there is a development now called balcony suicide," she said, adding the deaths were really camouflaged honour killings. Inspector Algamo said her research into honour crimes had been difficult. "So many murders, so many girls who fall from the balcony, so many false suicides," she said. "There is huge pressure on girls to take their own lives. They don't have the right to their own bodies, because their bodies are owned by the clan." http://www.news.com.au/national/australian-links-to-brutal-honour-killing/story-e6frfkp9-1111116166086 Saved

This is probably the first time I've seriously read anything about honour killings, as it's not really a subject that's interested me.
What I see here is two vastly different realities, and what I feel is that the two -- East and West -- should never meet.
The architects of Western immigration policy are clearly psychopaths with no regard whatsoever for their own people; unsuspecting people who should not have to deal with the broad and far-reaching social consequences of insane political decisions, in any shape or form.
